Drosophila
Drosophila

Drosophila is an installation meant to transform its visitors in an ephemeral and accidental micro-community, where each one affects the collective environment through touching or not-touching a sphere. A group of seven visitors can orchestrate in real time the sonorous and visual environment of the installation. Each sphere, while touching it, detonates a certain type of visual and audio components.

Drosophila is a genus of small flies about three millimeters long. It has been used as a model organism in genetic research for almost a hundred years. Its life cycle lasts approximately two weeks and it contains four pairs of chromosomes. One of them is very small and it’s rarely mentioned.
